The OSCARS are coming! Sunday night, March 7th, 2010. I’m counting down… I don’t know about you.

And, well… you know what that means, right?

It’s FASHION TIME! Every designer out there will be vying to get their gown on Meryl, Sandra, Mo’Nique, Helen, Maggie, Vera, etc! Can you blame them? It’s such an amazing platform to look beautiful and glamorous and Oscar-ready.

I’m one of those fashion lovers that (quite literally) sits in front of E! Entertainment from 6PM (EST) till the start of the Oscars, trying to get a view of every celebrity’s gown. I love these big award shows because it’s just Hollywood at its finest. I love seeing what celebrities chose to wear, what color they felt looked the best on them and if comfort (at all) played a factor. Every year there are hits, misses and then (there’s no way else to say it) the head-scratching.

I wanted to have a little fun in trying to predict some Oscar Fashions… I wanted to show what I would pick for some of the Oscar Nominated Moms:

Meryl Streep (nominated for Best Actress in Julie and Julia) –

Meryl Streep (mom of 4) is an icon. She can get away with anything. But this Oscar season? I see her in RED. Red dazzles, enchants and is absolutely spectacular. I love the one-shoulder style of this dress with the slight rouching on the waist. It’s true elegance and perfection.

Maggie Gyllenhaal (nominated for Best Supporting Actress in Crazy Heart) –

Maggie Gyllenhaal (mom of a daughter) is absolutely lovely. I chose this regal halter top style dress because I feel Maggie can pull anything off. She has an amazing figure and just has such a presence on a red carpet. Not many women could pull off a dress like this – with Maggie’s body, confidence and elegance – she can. And this color for her – fabulousness!

Mo’Nique (nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Precious) –

Mo’Nique (mom of twin boys) is someone I have loved for a very long time. She is full of life and energy and laughter and happiness. I am so amazingly proud to see her name on the list of nominees… her performance was out-of-this-world amazing. The Oscars is about glitz and glam… I see her in this strapless, flowy gown rocking and commanding the red carpet. She would look stunning in something like this!

Tina Fey (presenter) –

Tina Fey (mom of a daughter) is one of the funniest people in the world. I wanted to find a dress that suited her classic-ness and elegance… but also really showed a side of sexiness, too. Being funny is sexy. I thought this gorgeous one-shoulder black dress with amazing detail truly complemented Tina’s sense of style and grace.
