Dreft: Laundry Detergent for Baby *GIVEAWAY

Nobody could have prepared me for the amount of laundry 4 sons would bring me! But most of all, nobody prepared me for the amount of stains, spills and messes babies bring. When William (my first) was born, I couldn’t believe that I actually needed to change his clothes 4-5 times a day… I thought you only did that with diaper changes! William was a spitter-upper. Every time I gave him a bottle, it would come up. It was horrible. He was also born in September, the weather was getting cold… so anytime there was any wetness on his clothing, I needed to make sure he was changed immediately. Changing diapers. Feeding William. And laundry was my life. I have to be honest… I loved every single second of it. Enough so where we decided to have 3 more babies within the next 2 1/2 years!

Before I even had William (total first time mom), I asked everyone what I should be using, buying and getting for my new little “man”… what kind of diapers, what of bottles, what kind of pacifiers, what kind of sleepie-suits, what kind of bath wash, what kind of lotions and creams and what kind of detergent. Detergent was big for me because I have sensitive skin. I had a few women at work tell me I needed to wash with Dreft because it was detergent for babies (which is funny because my mother thought I was kidding when I admitted to not knowing what Dreft was).

I just had never heard of a separate detergent made specifically for babies. I did a little of my own research on Dreft, and realized it was a perfect fit for our little man on the way (not to mention is the #1 detergent recommended by pediatricians)! I actually registered for some for my baby shower and was so excited to be able to use it for washing little William’s clothing before he was born. What intrigued me about Dreft was that it was designed to fight tough baby stains, but also provide a gentle clean for baby. A baby’s skin is so sensitive, I didn’t want anything to irritate William’s skin. It was a perfect fit for us… and I continued to use Dreft when Alex, Ben and Henry were little babies. It left their clothes soft and smelling delicious! It’s actually kind of bittersweet not seeing the white bottle near the washing machine.

But… I’m excited to announce for all the moms-to-be and moms of little babies and toddlers that I have a DREFT GIVEAWAY! I have a Dreft New Mom Baby gift basket which includes a Dreft product of your choosing (power, liquid or high-efficiency for HE washers), a cozy soft baby blanket, and a cuddly teddy bear! The perfect gift for your baby… or if you know someone expecting!!

Leave me a comment telling me why you want to win this Dreft Basket! I will be choosing a winner on Saturday, July 17th!!

Dreft also has some GREAT laundry tips on their site right now for moms and a $2.00 coupon!

I would love to win this basket because I love Dreft…it is the only baby detergent that is gentle but strong enough to get the stains out of my daughter’s clothes. Now that she is eating solids, her clothes are covered in stains, but every time I use Dreft, it gets the stains out like magic!

    Hello Audrey,
I would love the dreft gift basket! This gift would help me out a lot with my 4 month old baby boy Emerson. I recently had to move from an apartment that had a major bug infestation problem. I used to have a washer and dryer in that apartment and boy was that a great convienience. Well, because I had to move I no longer have a washer and dryer. So now not only do I have to spend money on everything baby, but I have to pay to wash mine and his clothes at a laundromat. If I got this gift basket it would help save us some money so I can spend it on other fun things for Emerson 🙂 Thank you!

I would love to try Dreft because it is the one brand we have not tried yet and I feel like all of the free and clear detergents are not getting the clothes as clean as they should be. It has been difficult trying to find a detergent that is safe and gentle that gets smells and stains out of my sons clothes. We would love to try this. Thank you.

I’m a grandmother and I used Dreft in the 70’s and 80’s. Now, I have grandchildren and little nieces and nephews. I would love to win this Dreft Gift Pack for one of the babies in my family. The dad of one my nephews is facing a layoff and they have 3 other children. They are struggling financially and I’m sure this would be a welcome gift to them.

I’d love to win the container of Dreft! Before my son was born, I did the same first-time mom question asking . . . someone recommended Dreft, but with my pregnant brain, I got muddled and bought Downy fabric softener instead. I had washed a few loads of laundry exclusively with fabric softener before my mom gently pointed out that it wasn’t an actual detergent. I was wondering why those clothes weren’t getting clean!

I would love to win the basket for my twin baby boys – Alex and Ben – who are almost 4 months. I used Dreft with my 4-year-old daughter Julia and I am again using it with the twins. However, with twice the diapers, wipes, formula, wash, etc. I am looking for any place we can save! This gift basket would be very welcomed!

I would absolutely love to win this gift basket for Dreft. I love the smell of Dreft and most of all I love my 2 month old son, Christopher. Right now, I use Dreft and All for babies. It’s so funny I enjoy doing his laundry more than folding my fiance’s and my own clothes because I enjoy looking at all his cute little clothes he has consumed and Dreft works great on getting those tough spit up stains out. I also enjoy at how soft it makes the clothes feel as well. He’s got this corduroy pajamas set that when I hold him close to me he feels like a teddy bear so I call him my little teddy bear. My fiance have also thrown some of our own clothes in with his too and love how it cleans ours as well:-). I would love to have the little stuffed animal for my Christopher to play with as well. It looks really cute and I feel like the basket would be both beneficial to me and him and daddy(my fiance) as well.

I sympathize with your laundry overload! I too am the mother of 4 kiddos under the age of 6: a 6 year old boy, boy /girl twin 4 year olds and a 2 year old. The laundry never ends! It just seems to pile up on the dining room table! I also have to mention that my husband is a clothes horse too! I think I counted it up one day and we wear 34 +/- 4 pieces of clothing a day!

  28. 7.11.10

I would love to win this basket because my son was a preemie and his skin is super sensitive. Dreft is the only detergent we can use, even on our own clothes, because everything else gives him hives. So, with a family of 4, you can imagine how expensive it gets buying Dreft! We all love the smell, though, even my husband who goes to work smelling baby fresh. lol

  29. 7.11.10

I should win this giveaway because I take care of my daughter, go to college, and also carry a full-time job. I work hard for what I get and I love the feeling for being able to spend time with her and then when the day is done and she is asleep it gives me time to do all her laundry that has been used for the last couple days. I love this feeling so much. The smell is amazing and we both love the feeling of her clothes when they have come out of the dryer and even how they stick with he fresh clean smell days after putting them away. This is why I think I should win the Dreft giveaway.

My son will be a month old on Thursday and we’re already almost out of our first 32-load bottle of Dreft! I hear you about all the laundry, though we’re getting better at figuring out when he’s about to pee during a diaper change, so he doesn’t pee all over us (and himself)…

I would love to win this dreft basket. I am a new mother to a set of preemie twins. They are growing fast now, but still with their difficulties. They have made our hearts grow, but pockects shrink! We struggle as it is, but with their sensitive skin, we can only use dreft (which is not the cheapest choice)! I would love to win this, it would help so much and also give me a boost of kindness in these struggles.
