HEALTHY VISION with Dr. Val Jones

I have to wear glasses quite a bit. I don’t know what happened, as soon as I turned 25 years old… my vision went ka-put! I have to be honest, I’m not a lover of glasses. They can be heavy on my face. They leave marks on my nose. They need to be cleaned all the time! LOL… the list could go on. But I know I need them. And BADLY.

Contacts are my next thing, believe me!

But when it comes to my sons… I’m on high alert. So far I haven’t had to worry about getting them glasses, but every year, right at this time, we do their check-ups for school. With this check-up comes an eye test. There are so many of my mom friends dealing with some vision issues with their children, so I wanted to pass along an incredible source online for moms!

HEALTHY VISION with Dr. Val Jones seeks to close the gap between vision care attitudes and behaviors by providing listeners with timely and relevant information and helpful resources to help them manage eye health for themselves and their families. The program is supported by ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses.

I loved listening to her show on Children and Vision. It’s a topic that I feel isn’t discussed to much for moms, and it’s important to have information and advice from experts.

You’ll enjoy this show… This show highlights the importance of good vision to children’s performance in school, sports, and life. Dori Carlson, O.D., president, American Optometric Association talks to Dr. Val about the importance of catching children’s vision problems early on; Optometrist and researcher Jeffrey Walline, O.D. and Clinical Psychology Professor Mitchell Prinstein, Ph.D., share research and offer advice to parents on how to know if your child is ready for contacts. All-American actress Meaghan Martin tells Dr. Val about how she overcame “poke-a-phobia” and offers advice to teenagers on what they can do to improve their self esteem.
