Everything is beautiful at the ballet.

But nothing can compare to the beauty of sitting in the audience at the lovely Newport, RI Casino Theater with the anticipation of seeing my 10-year old granddaughter Maddie at the ballet… perform her very first ballet solo, Russian Trepak from The Nutcracker Ballet…

Surrounded in the great tradition of the ballet, the theater to performances of legends such as Oscar Wilde, Will Rogers, Helen Hayes & Lillian Gish, and the masterpiece of The Nutcracker Ballet tradition itself, Maddie danced…

Maddie danced exquisitely.  Maddie danced joyously.  Maddie danced… and the audience celebrated each and every magnificent move with her.

My heart soared and my heart sang, and my heart danced, too!

And from somewhere long, long, long ago, Ballet Magic brought me back to when I was 10 years old and I was dancing the Russian Trepak dance from The Nutcracker Ballet with my cousin Debbie…

Yes, everything is beautiful at the ballet.

But can I just say that nowhere ever will there be more beauty at the ballet than Maddie’s magical performance this past Sunday… as Maddie transcended time, space, music and Ballet Magic!
