My mother and father are packing up their house right now for a big move. As you can imagine, with moving comes tons and tons of memories. The house my parents are moving out of is a house they purchased in 2005, it’s not my childhood home, so I’m not emotionally attached to it. I love the house, but they’re not selling it with 34 years of memories (for me) attached to it. It’s been a perfect house for them for the last 6 years.
My mother has been packing like a woman-on-a-mission. She’s been finding some true gems in the process of packing everything up. She was going through some boxes today that were from my Nana. My Nana passed away 3 years ago, and many of her belongings have been stored at my parents house. To be honest, they were too difficult for all of us to go through 3 years ago… and now, since the move is coming — everything must be gone through. Going through everything now brings smiles and happy thoughts, it’s not as difficult as it was before. My Nana (much like me) saved EVERYTHING. I mean, she saved EVERYTHING.
My mother called me this morning and told me that she found in my Nana’s stuff the program to my Brown University graduation. The program had a little blurb about me and what and where I wanted to go… I smile as I read it now, I actually wasn’t too off the mark in a way. TV just turned into the digital world…
I love that my mother found this today!!
