I went to a spin class at my gym last night, and since I hadn’t been to one in awhile, I was a bit nervous to go. I don’t know why, really… I just needed some extra motivation to get myself there. I had signed up for the class the day before, but kept coming up with excuses as to why I couldn’t make it. But luckily I was able to jump over the obstacles I was putting in front of myself and get to class.
For me, feeling good in my workout clothes (and accessories) is pretty important. If I go to the gym feeling dumpy in my gear, my workout just feels… blah. I’m kind of in need of a big workout gear overhaul, but I at least have a few items that keep me feeling motivated to move.
First, of course, I have my awesome Sparkly Soul headbands.
They not only stay in place the whole workout and keep my hair out of my face, but just make me smile when I’m wearing them. I’ve tried a lot of workout headbands over the years, and let me tell you, fun and funky (and sparkly!) is the way to go.
I’ve always been a big fan of spandex-like shorts when I’m working out, whether I’m biking, running or taking group exercise class. It’s just what I feel most comfortable in. It’s also hard to find that perfect pair of shorts. I’ve been known to hold on to workout gear for years if I like it enough.
When Mom and I went to a Tristate Fitness Bloggers event, hosted at the Lululemon Showroom in Providence a few weeks ago, I was on the hunt for a new pair of workout shorts.
I didn’t own any Lululemon clothing, but I had heard people rave about the brand’s style, comfort and “perfect fit” factors for awhile. The clothing is higher end when it comes to prices, but from my experience with my new shorts, Lululemon gear is splurge-worthy.
I have now worn my Groove Short for a bunch of different types of workouts, and they are my new favorite go-to workout shorts. They are versatile, they don’t get in the way when I’m exercising, and I feel good in them. Groovy, indeed!
