Daily Diary: Why a Date Night is Important

Daily Diary: Why a Date Night is Important

Ahhh… DATE NIGHTS.

Something that Matt and I just don’t do enough.

We really don’t.

It’s not that we don’t try or want to, it’s just that our schedules are SO BUSY. When we usually do have a free night, we are usually on the couch — relaxing 100%.

But last night…

We dressed up.
We sent the kids to my parents for the night.
We indulged with a couple that we’re very good friends with and just had a night of happiness, laughter and relaxation!

As we were driving home, I said to Matt, “We REALLY need to do this more often.”

We had such a wonderful time.

It’s important to re-group. It’s important to be alone. It’s important to love and laugh and be silly with your partner. It’s important to hold hands. It’s important to look in each other’s eyes and know that this special date night is meaningful.

We do so much with the kids and with work, it’s just really good to zone out and just BE with each other sometimes.

Date night.

I know we won’t do it as often as we’d like, but it’s something we definitely need to make sure we carve out time for… it was like 1998 all over again. 🙂
