What Do You Wear to a Baby Shower

It’s Fashion Friday and today I’m talking about What Do You Wear to a Baby Shower!? That’s right. I’m talking to the mamas today! The ones that the baby shower is actually for and the baby in your belly! I’m talking to the mamas who have waited a long few months to be showered and celebrated with their baby to be! I’m talking to the mamas who have dreamt about their baby shower for years and finally getting their special moment – right there, center stage. This post is for YOU and I can’t wait to share what I wore to mine and get your fashion sense swirling around!

What Do You Wear to a Baby Shower

Let me set the scene for you. Last night my husband and sons hosted a beautiful baby sprinkle (otherwise known as shower) for me and our Victoria. It also happened to be my 35th birthday, so I was VERY excited to celebrate this special day with my family and friends.  I had literally been counting down the days! My husband opted to have the baby shower at Blithewold Mansion in Bristol, RI. This is the same place we had our wedding reception back on June 30, 2001! It’s a special location for us because it’s where it started it all for us! I was thrilled for this place to be the place to celebrate our baby girl to be!

The BIG question became for me… “What to wear?” That’s right… What Do You Wear to a Baby Shower when you’re the one being showered for the special day!! I had a few requirements for the afternoon. I wanted to be comfortable. I wanted to be stylish. I wanted to wear PINK! It was my first little girl after 4 boys, so I knew that this baby shower would be a special one for me because it would be all about the pink, not about the blue. I had never experienced that before for myself! I was super excited and really ready to be part of this occasion with the most important people in my life.

What Do You Wear to a Baby Shower? Well… as you can guess, pink from head to toe. If you’re expecting a boy, I would suggest blue from head to toe, too.

I found a gorgeous pink convertible maxi dress from Ingrid & Isabel that I bought last week online and when it arrived and I put it on, I knew it would be perfect for the night!  I couldn’t believe how perfect it was for me because I knew I needed something that wouldn’t feel binding on my stomach. I needed comfort like CRAZY! I’m due July 9th, so I knew I didn’t want anything that was going to be too tight for me to move and/or even eat!

Here’s me with my parents (they were all in pink, too!)

I just fell in love with the dress! It was SO comfortable for the night and it really made me feel beautiful. The dress is VERY versatile, too – it can be worn strapless or as a halter for extra support. Not to mention, the flattering empire waist accentuated my bump, and allows for an easy transition into post-pregnancy. My little Victoria looked so cute, right!?

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

What Do You Wear to a Baby Shower?  If you’re looking for a perfect maxi for your pregnancy, definitely check out Ingrid & Isabel and Rosie Pope! I also want to share a few more options below that I think would work beautifully, too! You need to think about what you’re having, the theme of the party and the vibe that you’re giving off! You are the center of attention for the day so you want to make sure you’re looking fantastic, too! You want to make sure you’re feeling your very best! This is one of those special occasions where it’s ALL ABOUT YOU! Embrace that! OK… it’s about you and your baby to be, which is just precious as can be and you will remember this day and/or night forever!

Also, here are some places to grab a Baby Shower Invitation Maker!
