I love taking family photos. There’s something special about looking back – years from now – and seeing a moment in time for our family.

For us, right now… it’s always an adventure trying to get everyone to look at the camera. There’s always someone making a funny face or someone doing a little funny dance. As I’ve gotten older, the photos that make me smile the most are the photos of the build-up to getting a family photo.

Yesterday was William’s 1st Communion… so you know what that meant, right? I just wanted to learn how to get a decent family photo.

TONS of photos to be taken!

We attempted to get a family photo of us all… here was a little progression.

I’m not kidding, my FAVE photos were the 1st (2) of them. They just mean something to me. That IS a perfect representation of my family.

So what are our secrets to getting a “decent” family photo?

This is what we do… we just sort of give it up. If it happens, it happens.

    Yeah they both are great, sometimes getting everyone to pose can look too setup. Just looking naturally really works most times even if you can’t get all eyes on the camera at the same time
