Fashion Round-up: Bravo’s Housewives Series – How to Dress Like a “Real” Housewife

How to Dress Like a “Real” Housewife.

I’m truly obsessed with Bravo’s Housewives franchise. As much as my husband could do without it, I’m a true devotee. I’m one of those people who watch every City and even tune into Andy’s after show broadcasts. It’s my true (true) guilty pleasure. The crazy thing about the Housewife franchise is that many of the ladies have emerged as true… well, celebrities. Look at Bethenny and what she’s been able to create for herself – a spin-off show, product lines and a pretty gigantic empire. I love it, I think it really is pretty (insert word) cool.

And so… you cannot watch any of the Housewives without noticing the FASHION. Almost like it was for Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, the fashion is like an additional character on the show. Each show has their own distinct sense of style… from Orange County to NYC to Beverly Hills to Atlanta to New Jersey to Miami… fashion is front and center. So how does one get this look?

Well… let’s go through the Cities…

Orange County… which was 1st in the franchise… when it comes to dressing like one of these ladies, think PINK, MINI SKIRTS, floral prints, deep v-neck tees and high-high heels!

New York City is all about FASHION! I love the boots, the heels, the blazers, the denim and the fabulous-ness of it all! Chic, trendy and always in-style.

Beverly Hills… it’s glam, it’s glitz and glamour! They’re always dressed up, even when they’re dressed down!

Atlanta
… lots of color and sexy touches and confidence!

New Jersey… Relaxed clothing with a fashionable edge. Lots of velour and Juicy clothing!

Miami… Anything goes! The weather is gorgeous and skin likes to be shown on these ladies (they totally have the bodies to pull this off!). SEXY! HAUTE!

And though I know we don’t see Washington D.C. anymore, I think it’s still fun to show the styles!

Washington DC… Preppy, chic! It’s a professional town and their fashion reflects it with a trendy edge!

I don’t watch the show but I love this. And even though I’m in the south I think I could make it in New York!

Nice!! There totally needs to be a Twin Cities version of Real Housewives, though!

Haha, I love this! You did a wonderful job with each city, I am not sure which one I like the most, but of course since I travel around a lot, I’ll take them all! Such nice items in each, great job! But like Bonnie, I would like to echo a wish for my city to join the list!

You got each show’s “uniform” for sure! Although, just so you know, we don’t really wear that my Juicy Couture in New Jersey. Ha!

I think my a favorite grouping was Orange County and Miami. Light, breezy and bright!

Very creative post! Enjoyed reading and looking at all the fashions and how they differ from each other. My favorite to look at is Beverly Hills although I think I would most likely wear DC in everyday life. Yes, as a native New Jerseyan, we don’t wear that much velour (anymore) or Juicy Couture. I grew up in Prepville, USA so it was Izod, gorssgrain belts and Topsiders without socks.
