10 Things I’ll Miss About My Maternity Clothing

Yesterday I spent an hour going through my closet and taking out all the maternity clothes. I gave my sister a HUGE bin about a month ago of all my maternity clothes for the first 20+ weeks, but I still had all the clothes left that would get her through her 3rd trimester. Truthfully told, I still NEEDED the clothing from the 3rd trimester… and I’m finally now back into “regular” clothes, so I knew it was time to pass the maternity clothing on to Jane.

I actually teared up getting the last of the maternity clothes. I LOVED having babies, and I LOVED my maternity clothes. Believe me, I would never say “no” to a 6th baby… but I just don’t think it’s in the cards for us. 5… it’s my magical number. Funny though, I would always leave a note in the bin for the “next McClelland baby-to-be” and this was the first time I didn’t do that… they’re for a Govednik baby-to-be! 🙂

After packing up the final items, I looked at the stuff Jane is getting from me… and thought about the stuff she has from me, and I thought to myself, “Damn! She’s got one hell of a maternity wardrobe!”

But I miss the clothes. I really, really will.

15 Things I’ll Miss About My Maternity Clothing:

1. The elastic waist on everything. Oh, how I will miss you because I loved you so much.
2. Being able to wear leggings all day, everyday. They were SO COMFY.
3. Not worrying how much I ate because I knew the clothing would “grow with me!” 😉
4. The dresses… oh, I loved my dresses. The ruching fit perfectly over my belly and just was very flattering.
5. The ties… believe it or not, I used to love being able to tie things tighter or make things looser.
6. Low-riding sweats. All last Fall I wore my sweats on the weekends and they were ULTRA comfy!
7. Cute graphic tees I owned that you can ONLY wear while you’re pregnant because they make references to pregnancy.
8. The true body support.
9. Long layering being acceptable… not the tanks go to my knees! LOL…
10. I will miss – most of all – my blue tie-dye dress I wore throughout all of the pregnancies. I loved that dress!

Yup… I will pretty much miss everything! I LOVED my stuff.

Do you miss your maternity clothing?

PS – And Jane… I do know they’re all going to the best place of all — you’re house!! xoxo

I’m so lucky to be getting your maternity clothes! I am treating them with a lot of love. 🙂 Thank you for entrusting me with them! I LOVE that blue tie-dye dress, too. I’ve already worn it a bunch of times, and I’m thinking of ways to make it acceptable even in the winter – boots and a chunky sweater, perhaps! XXOO
