This week I was invited to New York City to attend a blogging event for Miracle-Gro. If you know me, you know that gardening consumes about 3/4 of my year and I’m feverishly working to extend my growing season to cover that last quarter when the New England Winter mocks me with all its might. Needless to say, I was thrilled to see what this event was all about!
This year, Miracle-Gro is bringing a new gardening product to market called Gro-ables, an all in one Seed Pod containing a non-GMO seed, growing media and plant food. All you do is peel the top, push the Gro-able into the loosened soil and water. It doesn’t get much easier than that. Gro-ables Seed Pods come in 17 varieties, from greens and herbs to Watermelons and Pumpkins. Imagine your child’s delight when they watch a beautiful pumpkin slowly grow from this wonderful seed pod they planted in the Spring! I know how proud my boys were to point out the pumpkins they grew last Halloween.
Best of all, they’re guaranteed to grow. I’ve have numerous friends tell me that they have black thumbs and have tried and failed to garden. Gardening is a learning process, sometimes what you plant thrives, other times, not so much. Miracle-Gro guarantees their product, and I guarantee you can garden. Hey, even if you live in a cave, there’s always mushrooms! Give it a try, I promise you there is nothing more satisfying than eating something you grew yourself, or seeing your children take interest in where their food comes from.
Yesterday, I ran out for some Miracle-Gro Organic Choice Potting Mix so I could try out Gro-ables with the boys and they were on sale at The Home Depot for $1.25. I picked up a watermelon because I just couldn’t resist!
Give it a try, Spring is just around the corner and Summer is hot on its heels. Head over to Miracle-Gro for tips and advice and get those hands dirty!
Wow! I saw a coupon for these on Meijer mPerks and I really want to try them. Did you try them yourself? We just bought this house summer of 2012 and the previous owner was definitely a gardner – but the house had been empty for awhile so a lot of work is needed. I did plant strawberries last summer so I hope they come back this year! We also want to get a blueberry bush for the kids. This sounds like something I could really use since I’m very new to gardening but I really want to grow our own stuff.
