Introducing The Mom Challenge: Here’s How To Participate And Win #GettingGorgeous

The Mom Challenge Getting Gorgeous

The Story.

I have 5 kids.

Life is NEVER dull. NEVER.

To be honest with you, if it’s too quiet… I actually get nervous that something is wrong.

As the mom to 5 kids, I always need to be ON. I can’t ever be OFF. The ON butting is switched the second I wake up and stays till the second my head hits the pillow (and let’s be honest, I’m on all night, too – if there’s even a rustle in one of the kid’s beds, I hear it).

Let me make sure I express it here… I love this. I love being ON and being a mom. It’s what I was born to be and to do. These 5 little people are my life, my core, my reason for breathing.

With that being said, I never really take time for myself. I don’t. Time for myself is working, but what kind of fun is that? I’ve been trying to carve out 30 minutes a day to workout in our basement, but even when I’m downstairs working out, I have 4 boys running up and down the stairs “telling” on each other. Or… which is a good thing, telling me that Victoria is up from her nap or that she’s asking for “mama” from her crib. Everything needs to be timed now around our little baby girl. 🙂 So my 30 minute workouts have started to become let’s-see-how-far-I-can-run-before-I-need-to-stop sessions.

My best friend and business partner Vera Sweeney and I want to change this. We know it’s a Challenge to do things for ourselves, but it doesn’t have to be hours and it doesn’t even have to be outside our homes. We’re going to start popping up Monday Challenges to get YOU and US inspired to do things for ourselves. I’ve always believed to my core that making sure I’m healthy and peaceful makes me a better mom. When I’m stressed and in a chaotic mode, it’s not fun for anyone, especially my kids. I’m going to take the time do Challenge myself to do things for ME and I would love for you to come along on this journey with us.

Here’s how it works.

Every Monday, we are going to post a Mom Challenge. A simple task. You will have 7 days to complete it.
After you complete the task. Leave a comment to let us know that you did and check in with us.
If you want to enter the contest we are throwing along with the challenge, you have to take a picture of the challenge and post it on twitter with the hashtag #gettinggorgeous.
