Ziploc Fresh 180 Challenge #2 – Energizing Snacks

I’m so excited to be kicking off my 2nd challenge with the Ziploc® Fresh 180 program. I have been having an incredible time keeping myself healthy and dedicated to the program and Ziploc® has made it so easy and doable for me. I’m beginning to see results and it’s a wonderful and rewarding thing for me.

With 5 kids and working full time, I don’t have time to go to the gym or hire a trainer. I literally need to do what I can at home, so whenever I have 30-45 minutes to do so, I do it. I’ve been on my treadmill. I’ve been walking outside when the weather has been clear. I’ve been doing planks and push-ups and crunches. I’ve been doing yoga in my living room. I also have been getting smart about my food choices and have been prepping and preparing snacks and meals for myself ahead of time.

I’m beyond excited to share that I have partnered with Ziploc® to take on challenges throughout the spring. My 1st challenge was how Ziploc® is helping me get back into my Skinny Jeans (link again)! I love that Ziploc® is committed to helping men and women with their Ziploc® Fresh 180 program. The Ziploc® Fresh 180 program helps people find fun, simple, encouraging ways to make healthier lifestyle choices for themselves and their families. The “Feats of Fresh” challenges get people to experience how Ziploc® can make a positive difference in their lives. I love how Ziploc® is taking the time to connect and share tips, advices and ideas with their customers because it’s so essential and so important for healthy living.

This month’s Ziploc® Fresh 180 Challenge for me is all about prepping energizing snacks in Ziploc® bags and containers to fuel my workout. Since I’m really starting to eat 5-6 smaller snacks and meals throughout the day, making sure I have my food prepped for my workouts is great for me because it makes it super easy! If I don’t have food prepped ahead of time, I’m more inclined to grab unhealthy foods, which is something I don’t want to do. I rely on fruits and veggies and easy snacks to keep me fueled.

I have been really consistent heading to the market on Sunday night and buying healthy and easy foods for me to package up for the week in my Ziploc® Brand containers and baggies. My shopping list usually looks something like this:

• Apples
• Mushrooms
• Olives
• Carrots
• Cucumbers
• Cherry Tomatoes
• Tangerines
• Bananas
• Whole Wheat Cracker Fish
• Cheese Sticks
• Peanut Butter Crackers
• Whole Wheat Bread
• Lettuce
• Greek Yogurt
• Oatmeal
• Ground Turkey

I love to be able to make sure I have food in my house that will taste delish, but also be good for me and my family. I’m also one of those people, too that gets totally obsessed with certain snacks and meals and will keep having the same items over and over. With being on the go so much, it’s easiest for me to have everything prepped and ready to rock and roll!

I want to give you a peek at what you can usually ALWAYS find on me!

Here are 3 of my FAVORITE snacks to keep me energized for my workouts:

Energizing Snacks

1) Cantaloupe – This has become my favorite fruit lately! I love cantaloupe because it’s so refreshing and it’s so delicious! I could eat this throughout the WHOLE DAY! I’ve been buying 2 large cantaloupes, cutting them up and just rationing them out throughout the week. Snacks and breakfast foods – absolutely DELISH!
2) Salads – Its’ funny, I love salad, but I never would eat it at home because I didn’t like taking the time to always make a solo salad for myself. With my containers, I can make 3 or 4 of them and pop them in the fridge for my lunches for the week. It’s super easy for me. I add my favorite veggies – mushrooms, carrots and cucumbers and I have an easy and healthy lunch!
3) Granola and Yogurt – Since I’m usually on the go in the mornings, it’s easiest for me to have breakfast foods that are totally doable and practical. I love Greek yogurt and I love combining it with granola, so I package everything like this and just head on out!

What I love about these 3 foods is that they are balanced snacks and meals that give me energy and are healthy for me. They’re also items that are easy to prep and make at home.

I hope you’ll join me for this commitment and Ziploc® Fresh 180 challenge!!
