$250 Gift Challenge with T.J.Maxx and Marshalls

T.J.Maxx and Marshalls put me up to a shopping challenge.

Oh, yes.

They gifted me with $250 and they wanted me to see how much I could shop for the kids (all 5 of them!) with that amount of money at T.J.Maxx and Marshalls.

I’m going to be honest, I know these stores inside-and-out, so I knew I could get some awesome things… but, for $250 – I wasn’t sure just how much I could get. I was totally up for the shopping challenge, especially since I have the “Santa” pressure on my back to make sure I find a few key items.

This is what I knew for sure before heading into the stores…

William is into sports and clothing.

Alex is into sports, clothing and games.

Ben is into Pokemon, Games and Toys.

Henry is into Ninja Turtles, Imaginext toys and anything that he can play with on his own.

Victoria (all 16 months of her) is into clothing, dolls and girly-toys.

My husband and I went to our local T.J.Maxx and Marshalls ready for the CHALLENGE!

You will NEVER BELIEVE how much we got for $248 – with $2 to SPARE!

Look at ALL OF THIS…

Incredible, right??

We shopped for a couple of hours and had such a BLAST!! Holiday shopping is still in full-force, so I’m excites to share some of my tips with you about shopping at T.J.Maxx and Marshalls over the holidays with your kids:

– I always buy the same number of gifts for each child to avoid any fighting or questions. Believe me, with 5 kids – 4 of them being boys and all the same age, there is counting that happens on Christmas morning. It’s easier to purchase the same amount and be fair across the board.

– With multiple children, I also love to buy family gifts. Games, books, sets of toys, it’s easier to be able to buy toys that everyone can use and play with at home.

– I always have a set budget in my head for my family, too. Since the kids are into different things, I don’t budget per child, but I am aware of how much I’m spending around the holidays. For me, sticking with a budget is the best way to make the holidays work.

– It’s important around the holidays, too to show my children the importance of giving back. One thing we do every year is each of them pick out a toy or a book or a game and we donate them. It’s a wonderful way to show my children that giving is the best part of the holiday season.

Happy Holidays everyone!!
