Best. Day. Ever.
I got this surprise in my inbox yesterday from my husband…
… my Alex got his braces!!
If you’ve been following my story with my Alex, it’s been a crazy one. About 3-4 years ago, we started to realize that Alex had 3 front teeth growing in at the same time – but the thing was, one of them was growing in sideways, which was really messing with his top teeth formation. We were told that Alex needed to have the 3rd “sideways” tooth removed surgically, but since Alex was born with a hole in his heart (a small one that we monitor), he had to have it done at our local Children’s Hospital. Alex was a champ and it was removed and all was good! The braces went on soon after so that the teeth that had been pushed from the 3rd tooth would go back to “normal” again. Alex has had his braces on for about 18 months. He hasn’t loved them, but he’s been such a good sport about them and really has just rolled with them.
Yesterday for a routine visit, our ortho told Alex it was time to remove them!
BIG SURPRISE!
As every mom knows, when you see your child do that first toothy grin after braces, your heart (and your wallet) smile back!
If you’re in the Rhode Island area, I strongly recommend our ortho, he’s WONDERFUL – Dr. Gordon in East Greenwich and Coventry.
