Get your Kids Excited about VEGGIES with Birds Eye Flavor Full

I made a dinner vow to my family when school started this year. I vowed that we would eat dinner home 5/nights a week and I would mix it up and bring in new food combinations and dishes for them to try out. Everyone was getting pretty tired of the same-old, same-old that I was making throughout the summer. One of the toughest things is prepping a family dinner for 7 and not seeing anyone get excited about what I’m serving. I’m going to be totally honest with you, it hasn’t been easy for the last 2 months… but I have really, really been trying to make dinner more fun, while still keeping it healthy. I know so many of you know exactly what I mean when it comes to finding that perfect healthy and fun balance for dinner.

Here’s the thing with my family – we’re busy. Not just a little busy, REAL busy. Besides my work schedule and my husband’s work schedule, which is different every single day, we are always working around the schedules of our 5 children.

Monday – CCD from 3:30-5PM, Swimming from 5:30-7:30PM
Tuesday – Basketball from 3:30-4:30PM; Dance for Victoria from 4:30-5:15PM
Wednesday – Swimming from 5:00-7:30PM
Thursday – Swimming from 5:00-7:30PM
Friday – No after school activities (a day off!)
Saturday – Swim meet day
Sunday – Church, Swimming

As you can tell, being active and making healthy choices for our family is very important to me and my husband. When it comes to mealtime, I always like to make sure I include a veggie with dinner. Fortunately my sons love chicken, steak, fish and pastas… so a main course is always easy for me to “whip” up. For me, the tough part is the SIDE DISH. I want veggies on their plate, but they want something more exciting and (I’ll be honest) tastier than just plain corn or plain broccoli or plain potatoes or plain cauliflower on a plate. They want their veggies to have a little something-something to them and I completely get it. Since my boys are 7, 8, 10 and 11, I’m lucky right now because they are more open to trying some interesting flavors and tastes.

Thanks to Birds Eye Steamfresh Flavor Full, I’m getting the best of both worlds for my family dinners. My boys are getting veggies that are healthy for them and they’re also clearing their plates because the flavors are so delicious! I ADORE Birds Eye healthy options for my family because they are easy to prepare, healthy to eat and so yummy with each bite! I wasn’t sure how my boys were going to react to the new flavors and tastes from Birds Eye… they really are mixing it up and just have created an incredible veggie for the dinnertable! Birds Eye Flavor Full transforms vegetables with bold, unexpected flavors.

There’s Ranch Broccoli, Teriyaki Broccoli, Buffalo Cauliflower, Sour Cream & Onion Potatoes and Barbecue Sweet Corn.

I know, right!!?? INCREDIBLE!! I’m telling you, I AM IN FOOD LOVE with these Birds Eye Flavor Full options!!

But my guys!? I always get a little nervous trying something new out with them because you just really never know how they’re going to react, especially with food.

So… what did they think when they first tried them out??

Take a look…

As you can see, it’s a BIG hit in the McClelland household. The beauty for me is that there’s such a tremendous convenience with the steamfresh packages. I pop in the microwave and that’s it! I love that with our crazy-busy schedule, I’m able to always have a healthy veggie option on the table for everyone that’s quick and easy. For someone like me, this is a family dinner lifesaver!
