Thousands of Digital Photos Everywhere? Bevy is here.

I’ll never forget the day my husband told me that all of our photos from 2000-2004 were gone.

Just gone.

Wedding. Honeymoon. NYC newlywed days. Nieces and nephews. Random days. Extraordinary days.

The pregnancy of our first baby.

The birth of our first baby.

Gone.

The feeling of shock and devastation. How could these memories be gone? The hard-drive on our computer at that time just died and as much as we tried to save them, they just couldn’t be saved.

For the last 9 1/2 years… I’ve always been worried about the same thing happening again. Here I am name with 4 more babies and thousands and thousands of more memories. I take photos of everything. I’m one of those people who loves to chronicle every single day. Maybe it’s the blogger in me, but I’m never out and about without some kind of device to snap photos with. My husband is the same exact way. We’ll take 100 photos of our daughter getting a drink our of a water fountain or of our 4 sons racing in the backyard or of a gorgeous sunset over our house. We’re just those kind of people who love to take it in all, but save the moment with a photo or video, too. As I’ve gotten older and more immersed in the world of being a mom, I see that I’m not alone. Beyond the sharing of photos and videos socially, we’ve truly all become photographers of life and living around us. It’s a beautiful way to be. It’s a wonderful thing to have and to share with your family and friends. It’s something that I know my children will look back at years from now and thank me for… all these memories and moments and times saved forever in snapshots and videos.

But here’s the thing with my family — photos and videos are everywhere. Literally everywhere.

Present iPhones.
Previous iPhones.
Current laptops.
Previous laptops.
External hard drives.
Flip cameras.

You name the device in our house that can capture a video/photo, something’s probably on it.

Not good because it’s a digital mess. If I want a photo, I need to look through devices and folders on computers and it’s just a time suck.

About a year ago, a friend of mine – Nancy Smith – called me up and started telling me about a device and app she was co-founding with her buddy Firdaus. As Nancy spoke, I remember sitting in my office just nodding my head up and down and thinking to myself, she really gets it. She knows the mess and the chaos living in a digital world when it comes to capturing photos and videos.

She was telling me all about Bevy.

Bevy is a smart in-home connected device and app that collects, organizes and protects digital photos and videos taken by any family member on a mobile phone, tablet or digital camera.

Bevy is going to change the way you store and share photos forever. As much as I was instantly blown away by the concept Bevy… I am equally blown away by the tangible Bevy. The one that officially launches TODAY.

Bevy provides an easy and private way for multi-user families and groups to collect and share digital photos and videos in one place. Bevy also helps free up valuable storage space on mobile devices by automatically transferring photos to the in-home Bevy that can be accessed from anywhere. Bevy’s unique hybrid technology consists of a smart, small connected device that lives in the home, plus a mobile app that everyone in the family can use. The app enables them to easily contribute and enjoy photos from the entire family collection, anytime and anywhere – regardless of whether they are in the same location as the physical Bevy device.

It is – in a word – remarkable.

“We created Bevy to solve the distress caused by the digital photo explosion. Collectively we take billions of images that are at risk of being lost to time. Bevy gives families a simple and effective way to save, organize and share those memories with one another,” said Firdaus Bhathena, chief executive officer and co-founder, Lineage Labs. “We are thrilled to partner with Intel to bring back the joy of digital memories to families everywhere. Every component has been carefully selected to serve the intended use of the product – a compact, versatile, smart photo system designed for families.”

For me, it’s just wonderful to know that my photos and videos are stored somewhere safe. Somewhere I can get to in seconds. Not to mention I can connect my whole family through Bevy and be able to constantly see what’s going on with everyone.

This is a game changer.

Each Bevy contains either 1TB storage capacity, which equates to approximately 400,000 high-res photos, or a 2TB option that can hold approximately a million photos.

Bevy

Bevy is currently available for purchase in Blue, Black and Purple in a 1TB or 2TB size for $349 and $429, respectively at www.bevy.us.

Customers will be offered a special launch price of the 1TB or 2TB size for $299 and $349, respectively.

Truly, you need one of these.

Disclosure: I am working with Bevy as a Consumer Advisor. All opinions are 100% my own.
