Victoria is our little dancer. She loves it when I turn on some music in the house because she will just go to town! She rocks. She shakes. She jumps. She grooves. She’s a little firecracker! It cracks all of us up because she REALLY gets into it. I’ve tried my hardest to capture it on video, but as SOON AS SHE SEES ME take out my camera, she becomes “shy.” I’ve been saying to Matt for months and months that I need to sign her up for a dance class, but I couldn’t find a studio that would take a little girl under 3 years old. Then I remembered that Bellani Maternity in Rhode Island has dance classes for toddlers! I was able to get my little Victoria in one of their classes! The best part was when Kelly (the amazing owner) telling me to make sure she had ballet shoes for class.

Ballet shoes?

OMG. I’ve never had to buy ballet shores before for anyone!! I immediately went to Payless and bought Victoria her 1st pair of ballet shoes and then off to Target to buy her a special ballet outfit!

I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t sure how Victoria was going to be with a room full of little girls. As you know, she’s used to being around boys. ONLY BOYS. And she’s also never been in a class setting, so I wasn’t sure how listening to a teach would go.

Fortunately, I had nothing to worry about! She LOVED the class! She loved her outfit. She loved the music. She loved the teacher. She (seemed) to love being around the little girls (with the exception of not wanting the other girls to hug her!).

I have to say… my heart melted for 45 minutes.

There are many things about having a girl that are different from having a boy. I’ve been so programmed to being a boy mom for so many years, these types of things are truly such brand new experiences for me. It was a really fun time with her!

I personally can’t wait for next week!
