Day 15 ~ 31 Haiku in Search of a Voice ~
Tiny cityscape
Of gray blocks and Superman’s
Fog-cloaked Providence.
Yesterday afternoon, I was driving on Rt. 95 toward Providence, a route I’ve traveled a million times. It was a dreary, rainy afternoon of windshield wipers and traffic. In all of its noisy busy, it was also quietly peaceful in fog-cloaked way. I could see the City of Providence in the distance as I rounded Thurbers Avenue, a slice of ill-conceived roadway of 4 lanes of left-turn incline and bumper-to-bumper traffic. The City looked like a tiny structure built with tiny blocks by an imaginative child, complete with a Superman Building. I saw a Haiku in Search of a Voice!
