Destination Maternity is THE destination for maternity!

I had the most fun, amazing afternoon last Friday with my daughters Audrey and Jane and my 2-year old granddaughter Victoria at the very fun, amazing, happy maternity destination store ~ Destination Maternity at Garden City in Cranston, RI.

Oh, have times changed since I was pregnant with my children decades ago, and I mean changed in the most fashionably forward, gorgeously forward, happily forward for all 40 weeks of pregnancy and then some, because all Mamas know that our maternity clothing is just as important for comfort and style after the baby arrives!

A quick story. When I was expecting Audrey back in 1977, I was a high school teacher. This little bundle was due in June, but by December I had already burst out of all of my “teacher” clothing of pressed slacks, tucked-in blouses, pantyhose and cute suits. Back then, dress codes were a bit more strict in the professional/casual department and I had nothing to wear – almost – but loose velour sweatpants and sweatshirts in just about every color, totally inappropriate for school attire!

My greatest wish for Christmas that year was a pile of maternity clothes.

My wish came true on Christmas morning. My husband had headed to somewhere and bought me 3 pairs of pants, 3 blouses, 3 warm sweaters and 3 maternity bras… big, smock-ish, shapeless, boxy, polyester things.

I was in comfort heaven! Not fashion heaven, though. The evolution of maternity clothing hadn’t yet evolved in form-fitting pride in those glorious bumps of baby.

Fast forward to 2016. How exciting and easy it is to have everything maternity gathered into one beautiful place, with friendly, attentive, knowledgeable salespeople who not only know the many, many brands and the many, many styles, but also know how to put brands and styles together to create the exact style of the expectant Mom. Expectant Moms want to be comfortable and beautiful in their fashions for work, play, casual, dressy, bedtime, pampering moments and everything underneath and in-between, and Destination Maternity is the place to find it all…

Bringing beautiful fashion and incredible comfort to every aspect of an expectant Mom’s days and nights…

And that’s not all!

Lots of expectant Moms also have children, and these children accompany their Moms on shopping excursions. Destination Maternity has it covered in this department, too, as children are given an awesome, safe place to play, use their imaginations or sit and watch television, use their electronic devises or read. My granddaughter loved this special, colorful space as well as the drinking fountain at exactly her level, just right as in Goldilocks’ fame, so welcoming and so perfect…

Victoria also had fun peeking in on Auntie Janie and offering her opinions on outfit after lovely outfit…

A perfect Girls’ Day Out with my 2 girls, my grandgirl Victoria and my grandgirl-on-the-way, Eve Sharon!

To this Grandma of 11, with #12 Eve due soon, anything that makes being pregnant or having children or grandchildren along both PLEASANTLY & EASILY on a one-stop shopping trip is a true win.

Any destination that creates dazzling smiles of happy is a true win.

Anywhere a Mama can leave with a smile THIS BIG is a win beyond win!
