Even before I had kids of my own, I knew all about Edaville USA, the super fun adventure park in nearby Carver, MA. My siblings and friends with kids always raved about Edaville USA, with its wide range of fabulous family-friendly activities and attractions. So when I had my son Brian Jr., two and a half years ago, I couldn’t wait until he was old enough to bring so we could experience the park ourselves!
Edaville USA
Edaville USA has three adventure parks in one: Edaville Proper; North America’s only Thomas Land (which opened in 2015), including 11 super cool themed rides; Dino Land (seasonal), which features 23 life-size animatronic dinosaurs; and the Christmas Festival of Lights (seasonal), where you’ll see over 17 million lights illuminating the park.
We had our first Edaville USA family experience last December, when my husband Brian and I took Brian Jr. there for the Christmas Festival of Lights. We arrived early in the evening so we could explore a little before it got dark.
We didn’t quite know what to expect – we were just excited to go based on what we had heard from others about the park – but we were seriously blown away!
We wanted to ease Little Brian into the experience, so we began with the kiddie rides and games in the arcade, which he loved.
After that, we headed over to Thomas Land, where we had a blast flying way up high on Winston’s Skyline Express. It gave us an incredible view of the park and all the other rides!
It started getting dark after that, and we were in for a real treat with the Festival of Lights. Everywhere we turned we were greeted by the colorful lights decorating the entire park. It was such a sight to see!
We then decided to board Edaville USA’s Railroad Diesel Excursion Train (open on select days), a well-known old-fashioned train ride through the scenic New England cranberry bogs. This also gave us a chance to see more beautiful Christmas lights throughout the park!
We had a truly amazing time at Edaville USA, and we couldn’t believe how much was included in the price of admission. We can’t wait to go back again this year and see all the new things that have been added. The park has expanded significantly since the 2015 season, now offering more than 90 rides and attractions. Its newest attraction, Dickens Village, is expected to open in winter 2016.
Of note, Edaville USA keeps in mind the special needs of all its guests, offering accommodations such as a sensory-friendly bathroom and quiet rooms. How amazing is that? They are even hosting their First Annual Autism Weekend September 16-18th to highlight the park’s sensory-friendly accommodations and to help educate others about autism.
Edaville USA is family-friendly, expansive, entertaining and accommodating. You really can’t ask for anything more in an adventure park!
