ER Visit for my Girl

On Monday night I had to rush Victoria to the ER because she banged her head on our car door, causing a big gash on her hemangioma. It happened in a split second, but I could hear the bang and immediately I knew it was going to be a tough one for her. My mom sense went on HIGH alert ASAP. Since it was right on the hemangioma, it really bled badly. I’m not going to lie here, I thought I was going to pass out! I’m not good with blood, so it really took my breathe away. I ran Victoria back into the house so I could get a cloth and put pressure on the gash. When we got inside, 1/2 of her face was covered in blood, when I was able to get a look, it was evident that the gash was about 1/2 inch long and just in a really bad spot on her head.

My heart ached.

As every parent knows, when your child’s hurt, you hurt too.

I rushed her to the ER and they were great and opted not to do stitches due to the location of it on her hemangioma.

At this point the bleeding had stopped and she was in VERY good spirits! She’s never been in a hospital before, so this was all new to her! She was like a kid in a candy store. The doctor ended up putting on 2 butterflies, which we’ve been monitoring (they’re still on).

Victoria took it all like a champ and true fashionista… she kept re-applying Chapstick (her lipstick) for all the nurses and doctors.

My girl was cool as a cucumber. She also entertained the staff marching around with my Louis clutch, pretending to be a grown up…

And she kept sneaking a peek at the patient next door (it was an elderly couple who loved the distraction)… she kept singing Moana songs to them, too!

Thankfully – 4 days later – and after 2 additional checkups, she’s 100% fine.

I’m embracing with a sigh of relief today!
