42 NEW Girl Scout Badges Announced!

We are a BIG Girl Scouts family! Victoria enrolled last year and loved it! Today they announced 42 NEW Girl Scout Badges and I’m thrilled to share the news with you! Girl Scouts was one of the best things we did with Victoria this past year. She learned so much and truly felt part of the Girl Scouts sisterhood.

NEW Girl Scouts Badges Announced

Girl Scout Badges

When I first got Victoria enrolled in Girl Scouts it was completely new for our family. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I also knew that it was something I really wanted her to be part of with her friends. My mom was a Girl Scout when she was a girl and my grandmother was a “Den Mom” for her troop. I felt like it was something special for Victoria to do on her own.

What I didn’t expect was just how much Victoria was going to fall in love with Girl Scouts. Whenever there was an opportunity to do more, she wanted to do it! She even wanted me to take her to a meet-up when she was sick as a dog with the stomach bug this year! She couldn’t get enough and never, ever wanted to miss a meeting. Every time she was given a task, she went in all the way!

She was head over heels every single time she earned her Girl Scout Badges. I mean – HEAD OVER HEELS! She would tell her brothers and father all about them and how she earned them. It was so cool seeing her set a goal and go after it. It was something about Girl Scouts that I was so excited to see happen for my girl.

When I saw this announcement today on the New Girl Scout Badges, I was so excited!! See what Girl Scouts have in store for the girls out there:

When girls, parents, and volunteers tell us what they want to do most, we listen. We’re always evaluating—and enhancing—what girls do, how they connect, and how they grow as Girl Scouts. And then, in true Girl Scout fashion, we take action to keep our program relevant and engaging.

This year, we added new Journeys and badges in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and the outdoors. Plus, we’re highlighting awards in global awareness and advocacy. Combined with existing programs, these new Journeys and badges help girls empower themselves to unleash their inner strengths and accomplish amazing things.

Taking the lead to create your own adventure? Let’s go!

Girl Scout Badges

STEM Journey

Outdoor STEM | Think Like a Citizen Scientist
Girls participate in interactive activities to learn how scientists solve problems using the scientific method. Girls practice observation, collect data, and complete a citizen science project. Then they create their Take Action project.

STEM Badges

Computer Science | Cybersecurity: Girls learn how computers and the internet work and apply the concepts of safety and protection to everyday technology.

Computer Science | Coding for Good: Girls find out how to create computer programs, games, and apps that solve problems and help others. There is an “unplugged” version of this badge as well as a “plugged” version that allows girls to do activities online.

Space Science: Girls learn all about the Solar System and our place in it. Just like real scientists and astronauts, girls explore, observe, and investigate the Sun, Moon, and stars and discover that space is bigger and even more exciting than they imagined.

Outdoor Badges

High Adventure
Girls choose their own adventure with these unique two-in-one badges that let girls decide which activity they’ll participate in. Whether trail running, hiking, snowboarding, or tree climbing, there’s an outdoor activity perfectly suited to every girl’s interest, skill level, and age.

  Global Activities

It’s a great big world, and every day Girl Scouts work to make it a better place. These updated activities inspire girls to think globally as they explore and change the world.

World Thinking Day
Girl Scouts celebrate World Thinking Day (February 22) by exploring this year’s theme of “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion,” connecting with the global sisterhood of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and completing a Take Action project to make their communities more diverse, equitable, and inclusive.

Global Action Award
Girls participate in activities that address the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality and complete a Take Action project to promote gender equality in their communities and beyond.

Pretty incredible, right? What I personally love, too is that the young girls are going to love the new adventures and challenges that all of these badges offer, and our Girl Scout volunteers (which I have become!) and families will have a great time exploring new badge experiences with their girls. It’s all about building and learning together and I personally love how Girl Scouts makes it easy.

Please make sure you pass along the information about the new Girl Scout Badges to anyone you think would love to be part of this incredible organization for girls. I have seen Victoria grow so much and it’s just amazing that this “little” girl has truly become a Daisy and moving onto the next step. When she wears her blue vest with all the Girl Scout Badges it’s like she has a superhero cape on and I love it! She simply lights up!

Thank you to the Girl Scouts for doing so much for our girls. You help them grow. You help them blossom. You give them confidence. You truly are doing such good by allowing them the gift of time and experiences. They are learning to give back and become kind and insightful young ladies. I can’t say enough of the Girl Scouts and truly recommend it to anyone that has a daughter.

Make sure you check out some of my other Girl Scouts content, too!

Victoria is Officially in the Girl Scouts

I’m also here to answer any questions, too! I’ve had moms reach out asking me why I recommend and ask about my personal experience with Victoria and I love to share and talk about it!
