YMCA After School Programs

When I was a little girl I went to the YMCA every morning before school. My parents were both teachers and they needed to be in school before me, so they needed to find a before school program that they trusted and that worked for them financially. The YMCA fit the bill perfectly. I used to love going there, I have such wonderful memories of being there and then heading to school. It was always fun for me!

Now that I’m a parent I know how important and essential it is to find amazing before and YMCA after school programs that work for you and your family. There’s so much stress involved in and with trying to make it “work” for working parents on “who is going to watch my kids” before and after school, I’m here today to share that the YMCA is still one of the best places to have your kids go.

Let me be honest with you. We “live” at our local YMCA. We swim there 5 days a week on their swim team. I personally work out there 4-5 times a week. My sons are now working out in the gym a few days a week with my husband. It’s a go-to place for our family because it’s fun and it’s a wonderful place for families to be together and be active. I even remember when the boys were little – we used to go to family swim with them almost 5 times a week! They were ALL water babies, so I just loved taking advantage of pool time. The YMCA for us is home. We love it.

So… when it comes to Before and YMCA After School Programs I would absolutely turn to the YMCA. I work from home, but since I’m at the YMCA so much I see firsthand the different programs and they are incredible. I know that if I needed to utilize before and after school programs that the YMCA would be the first place I would go with Victoria.

The Y provides a nurturing environment that is like home, full of kindness and caring. As the largest childcare provider in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, we are committed to working with families to create a support system for healthy development for children ages five to eleven.

Licensed by the Department of Children, Youth, & Families, we offer extended hours as early as 6:00am until school starts and after school until 6:00pm. Hours vary by location.

Those hours are incredible to have access to YMCA after school programs. Not every person can be a work from home or stay at home parent, it’s essential to be able to rely on a program that works for your schedule and will be a wonderful option for your child. You want to make sure your child is safe and taken care of in a fun and considerate way. You want someone to be your extended family for those few hours that you’re not able to be there. This is where the YMCA helps you out.
