Winter Outfits - 5 Ways to Style a Cream Sweater

Ready for some winter outfits? I’ve got them coming in hot and I can’t wait to showcase tons of them throughout the next few weeks! When it comes to winter outfits and winter style, the first thing you need to think about is WARMTH. You want to be warm. You want to be comfortable. You want to wear something that suits the weather around you! Here in New England it’s SUPER COLD right now, so my fashion choices reflect what it’s doing outside.

Winter Outfits – 5 Ways to Style a Cream Sweater

When it comes to winter outfits, I’m all about finding items that I can style a variety of different ways. I love being able to take a sweater and wear it 10 different ways. I always feel like I’m actually getting my money’s worth when I can pull a sweater and change it up a bunch of ways. Who wants anything boring, right? You want to have some FUN with fashion and that’s something that I love to do and love to try when ‘m styling myself.

I wanted to show YOU how easy it is to create some winter outfits with clothing you (most likely) already have in your closet! I bought myself a basic cream sweater and decided to switch it up and style it 5 different ways. I wanted to see if I could dress it up, dress it down and wear in smack down the middle – nothing too fancy, but not too casual either.

Here’s the sweater I’m styling in this post, but you can grab ANY cream colored sweater!

Style #1: Winter Outfits – What to Wear on the Weekend – With this look it’s all about comfort. I don’t know about you, but during the weekends I’m a madman running around after the kids. I’m here. I’m there. I’m everywhere. I need to be able to dash after Victoria in a heartbeat! I love that I can just toss on my relaxed jeans, sneakers (obsessed with my Nike) and cream sweater!

Style #2: Winter Outfits – What to Wear on a Date – My husband and I don’t always get time alone, but when we do – we relish in it! We’re all about grabbing a quick bite and then heading home to see the kids. That one hour of just us time is a really big deal and it’s something we love. I decided to pair my FAVE white jeans (which you can wear white jeans in the winter!) and my boots for a fun winter look! Easy as can be! Buy some white jeans here.

Style #3: Winter Outfits – What to Wear to Work – I’m all about stretching my clothing as far as can be. I love wearing pieces to work and really seeing how I can dress them up! I’m all about black skirts because they go with just about everything! I grabbed this black mini skirt years ago at H&M and have worn it a dozen times! It’s just perfection! Style #4: Winter Outfits – What to Wear to a School Event – I have 5 kids and whenever I head to a school function, I always like to look my best. I’m all about layering, so I thought it would be fun to take the sweater and layer it over a denim shirt. I’ve said it before, but everyone should have a denim shirt and know ways to wear a denim shirt. It’s an essential piece and this look is so chic and easy! Add some jeans and booties and you’re good to go!

Winter Outfits - What to Wear to a School Function

Style #5: Winter Outfits – Heading out with the Girls – I’m all about a good girls night! I love to relax and just hang out! I grabbed some leggings for this look and just decided to kick it back. I wanted to “jazz” it up a little, so I added a moto jacket! Love how easy this look is! I feel chic and also oh-so comfy! I even just tossed on easy slide-ons!

Loving these easy looks with my cream colored sweater. It’s also the kind of sweater that everyone can wear and work for themselves. I love how it’s very “plain,” but works so many different ways. These are key pieces to work into your winter outfits. When you know you can really get some fashion longevity out of pieces, you hang on to them for dear life!
