Earth Day has always been a special day that I’ve celebrated with my family because I’ve always been passionate about them knowing how important it is to take care of the world around us. In the past we’ve planted trees, helped pick-up trash at our local beaches, and distributed seedlings at local parks. I’ve just always thought it was important to teach my children (and lead by example) the importance of Earth Day and continuing the education of it all year long.
Celebrating Earth Month at Animal Kingdom
So… when we were invited to celebrated Earth Month at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, it was a magical dream come true! Disney is the happiest and most magical place on Earth, so being there and enjoying the fun and educational festivities with my family, it was simple incredible!
If you’re a Disney lover like me, you’ll love to hear what they have going on all month long as they celebrate the beauty and the importance of Earth Day. The magic of Disney is also in the magic of nature and all that they have created within their Parks, specifically at Animal Kingdom.
Earth Day Activities at Animal Kingdom
There are some cannot miss activities that you can participate in while visiting Animal Kingdom during Earth Month (April 1-30th).
🐘 Animal Adventures
Animal Kingdom theme park has something for everyone and animal adventures are Victoria’s favorite thing to do at the Park because she’s obsessed with animals. We got to see 4 month old baby Corra… which was amazing. You are able to get a front row seat and learn more about animals on the Kilimanjaro Safari or Caring for Giants tour.
✏️ The Animation Experience at Conservation Station
Pick up a pencil and learn how to draw some of your favorite Disney characters! I think we did a pretty good job bringing Terk to life! Best part? It’s FREE!
🌳 Conservation Station
Learn all about wildlife and animals Conservation Station. You can even interact with a few animals, too! *Plus now through April 28, you can earn a special Wilderness Explorer nature badge while learning how to connect with nature near you. You can complete the activities on your own, or take on each task as a group when you set out on a series of fun, nature-themed challenges on your way to becoming an official Wilderness Explorer.
💫 Specialty Food, Drinks and Merchandise
Experience Earth Day through culinary delights and fun merchandise! We had to indulge in the Elephant Cupcake at Dinoland, it was absolutely incredible! We waited in a 20 minute line for this incredible dessert!
💫 Character Meet-and-Greet Experiences
There are also special and fun character meet-and-greets that you can participate in for Earth Month! It’s super exciting to see which characters will be in the park looking for some fun and magical (and memorable) photos!
There’s so much to do at Animal Kingdom to celebrate Earth Day! It’s just incredible to hear and see Disney’s commitment to saving wildlife and building a global community inspired to protect the magic of nature.
