When it comes to back to school time, we all want to find easy hairstyles for our girls that are cute, easy and will stay put throughout the school day. As much as there are adorable and pretty hairstyles out there, the reality is that you want a hairstyle that is doable, but also will stay put all day long!
This is a hairstyle that I tried for the first time on Victoria this past week. It’s funny because when I initially started out with this hairstyle, I didn’t intend on it to end up like this, but that’s the beauty of playing with Victoria’s hair because I love to see what we come up with! This is a fun updo hairstyle for school that is great for sports and just if you’re looking for an updo.

Here is the tutorial for this hairstyle. As you can tell, it’s not very intricate, but it does come out looking sweet as can be! I did this in Victoria’s hair when she was heading to a playdate last week and it stayed put all day.

Step-by-step Tutorial:
- Start with the hair half up.
- I measure about 2 fingers down and then grab some hair on each side and bring it all together with a hair elastic.
- Repeat that step one more time.
- Take the remaining hair and create a three-strand braid.
- Feel free to add ribbons or bows!
I love how this hairstyle comes together. It’s the cutest ever and just so great (again) for back to school time! There’s nothing like a fun updo hairstyle for school that is easy to do!
Hair Products To Use on this Hairstyle
Here are the hair products that I used for this particular hairstyle.
HAIR ELASTICS
These are the Teenitor hair elastics I’ve been using lately. I was recommended to use them and couldn’t wait to give them a try. Victoria’s hair is on the thicker side, so I need to make sure I have hair elastics that will hold the hair and be extra durable. I also want to make sure the hair elastics won’t damage or crease the hair.

They have stayed in very fine, soft hair through days of gardening. Also, they slide off the braids when grabbed and pull off clean. No rolling and catching the hair to make knots.

It’s the one question I get asked the most lately, and I love it. It’s important to make sure you prep the hair before you create a hairstyle. I love to use hair styling cream because I know it will help to keep the hair smooth and shiny.
