Baby Brian Is Arriving Soon – Where Did The Time Go!?

I found out I was pregnant on June 11, right as spring was about to turn to summer. The weather was warm, the days were long. When I was told my due date – February 10 – I thought that it sounded so far away. It would be winter by then! So cold! So dark!

Well, here we are in early January, just a little over 5 weeks from my due date. It’s winter now, and yes, it is definitely cold and dark. And add snowy to the mix, since we just had a snowstorm over the last two days.

I can’t believe it’s actually almost time for us to meet our little guy. As I think back over the last several months, some of the time has gone by quickly and some of it seems to have crawled along. The nausea, vomiting and migraines of the first few months (when I thought to myself, “I don’t know if I can ever go through this again”) seem like distant memories. The more exciting parts of pregnancy – like feeling the baby kick for the first time, finding out his gender, and cleaning out the guest room with my mom to start on the nursery – are the things I remember most vividly.

My baby shower is a week away and baby items have already started to fill the nursery. It’s becoming very real now… Brian and I are going to be parents – and our dogs are going to be big siblings – to a little human! I haven’t been good about updating my blog throughout my pregnancy, so here are some of my favorite preparing-for-Baby-Brian photos from the last few months!

I am so excited for you and Brian. Watching my daughter and son-in-law with their new baby girl is amazing. The time is going way too fast though. She’s already two months old. Maybe years down the road, we can fix Baby Brian and Baby Haley up on a blind date! xoxo
