Happy 7th Birthday to my BENJAMIN!

Today my Ben turns 7 years old.

Birthday Celebration

At 7:01AM on April 4th, 2007… our life changed forever when they placed a gorgeous little blonde baby in my arms. My 3rd son. My Benjamin.

Benjamin’s coming to be is always a very special and personal one to me. In March of 2006 I suffered a miscarriage. It was a tough time for me because I had just given birth to William and Alexander with complete seamless pregnancies. I remember feeling that something “might” be off with my 3rd pregnancy, but it wasn’t until I saw the confirmation of no heartbeat that it became a true crushing blow. I was devastated and truthfully depressed. I kept asking my OB/GYN, “When can I start trying again for another baby?” He said to me, “Let’s give your body till June… you’ve been through a lot and you need your body to heal.” He knew how anxious I was to start trying again.

I found out in August that I was pregnant. I was ELATED, but also TERRIFIED of having another miscarriage. I was like that throughout my whole pregnancy! I was just a nervous wreck, I needed everything perfect for this little baby boy inside my tummy.

When Benjamin was born on April 4th… I’m not kidding, the second I locked eyes with him, it was the first time I had taken a peaceful breath in a solid year. He was here. Benjamin’s birth story is a little different than my William and Alexander’s… he was not only wanted, he was needed.

Benjamin has continued to be my little best friend throughout his whole life. He loves. He loves big and deep.

He’s the kindest, sweetest and most happy kid.

He fills me up.

Every year I make the kids a special birthday video. They love it and look forward to it every single birthday. Here’s my 7th year birthday video from my Benjamin… my big boy! 🙂

    Hi Audrey,

I can totally relate to miscarriage as I miscarried between my first son and the twins. It is a challenging time, one that many people don’t understand or know what to say. And it’s true the fear with the next pregnancy and the relief you feel when that baby is placed in your arms. Congratulations on your son Benjamin and all your beautiful children. May they continue to bring you joy (and challenge 🙂 in your life
