When you’re thinking of breakfast ideas for St. Patrick’s Day, think GREEN! It’s one way to really amp up the magic and fun of the holiday without going too crazy. Not everyone wants to dress up from head to toe in GREEN for the special day, but you still can have some family fun.

St. Patrick's Day Popcorn

Ever since my kids were small, we would always try and come up with some fun green breakfast ideas for St. Patrick’s Day. Believe it or not, it’s not always that easy to think of different things you can make and turn green. It’s not just about having the perfect St. Patrick’s Day breakfast, it’s about making it memorable.

St. Patrick's Day Treats

An easy St. Patrick’s Day breakfast would be Lucky Charms. It’s that one standby that parents can always rely on and use for a fun idea. It’s actually the ONLY time I will buy Lucky Charms in the McClelland household, so my kids look forward to this special treat.

Take breakfast ideas a step further by going ALL GREEN. That’s right. Even if you can’t find green foods that your kids will like and/or eat, make their favorite foods green by adding some green dye to them. It’s such a fun thing to do and see them get all excited about green breakfast ideas for St. Patrick’s Day.

Green Breakfast Foods

Here are some suggestions on the green breakfast ideas for St. Patrick’s Day. You may not take all of these to heart for the lucky day, but hoping there are one or two ideas here that you can run with and have some fun with for your kids and your family.

Green Milk

Grene milk has been a fan favorite in our house since the kids were little. It’s the easiest of all the St. Patrick’s Day ideas for kids because you (literally) just drop a few drops of green dye into your gallon of milk and shake it up. In seconds you have green milk for your kids to enjoy.

If you don’t want to turn your whole gallon green, just add it right to your glass of milk. Mix it up and you’re good to go!

Green Scrambled Eggs

We’ve all heard of green eggs and ham! This is a fun one to do for your kids. Just as you’re about to add the egg mixture to your pan, drop a few drops of green dye in there. Mix it up to get your desired color and then go on and make your eggs. This is a fun one to do and to have Green Eggs & Ham on reserve for some reading fun, too!

Green Fruits

Another great thing to do is make a platter of various green fruits. You can really have some fun with this one by finding foods that you know your kids will like and actually eat. Green grapes, green apples, green pears, kiwis… just to name a few!

The colors really jump out at you! They’re so pretty and delicious looking. Also a good idea to do if you’re looking for St. Patrick’s Day Brunch Ideas.

Green Smoothies

This is one of the healthiest treats I love to do for myself! Grab your fruits and veggies and create a GREEN SMOOTHIE!! This is a fun one to do for yourself or your kids.

Good side note for you, make sure you grab some spinach!! This will really help turn your smoothie GREEN as can be!

Green Muffins

If your kids are into muffins, go ahead and dye them green! This is great when you’re looking for green breakfast ideas for St. Patrick’s Day. Just go on and make your regular batter, but add green dye before you add them into the muffin tins.

My personal advice is to try and make these with corn muffins. It really makes the green pop in the batter once they come out of the oven.

Green Pancakes and Waffles

I’m going to do a two-for-one here. This is a simple recipe to make when you’re making pancakes or waffles in the morning. Go ahead and make your regular batter, but (just like you would do for the muffins) add green dye to the mixture. It’s an easy process and makes for a ton of fun.

Hopefully, these will be fun for you to make for your family for St. Patrick’s Day! It’s all about making the day fun and special for them. If you want to create some fun snacks for them, check out my favorite St. Patrick’s Day Popcorn Treat for Kids. This is a must-try and it’s delicious!
