Snowflake Hairstyle for the Winter

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow! I tried a Snowflake Hairstyle for the very first time last night and I love how it came out! It’s so sweet and simple and is the perfect hairstyle for the winter months.

Snowflake Hairstyle for the Winter

My friend Tiffany over at Easy Toddler Hairstyles shared this hair tutorial on her Instagram account last week and I saved it immediately. I thought it was perfect to try on Victoria for her winter holiday party coming up at school.

Another reason I loved this particular snowflake hairstyle tutorial is because there isn’t any braiding required. I know that not many people are great at braiding, so it’s always important for me to share hairstyles that don’t always include that kind of hairstyle.

I would highly recommend trying this one over the next couple of months because it really is a great one for this time of year! It’s just adorable and super cute for the chillier months right now when snow is bound to come sooner or later!

Snowflake Hairstyle Tutorial

I tried to go as slow as I could for the video. Tiffany did a great job on her hair tutorial video walking through the steps. My advice is to watch the video a couple of times before trying it out. As you will see, it’s basically repeating the same hair step over and over as you’re creating the flakes in the hair.

Step-by-step:

  1. Create 5 ponytails – 3 on top, 2 on the bottom – like I have on Victoria. I used hair styling cream to smooth the hair down ahead of time. I will share below what we use (I love it!).
  2. Take the top section in the middle. Add a hair elastic an inch from the top one.
  3. Once that’s in, add another hair elastic 2 inches below it.
  4. Topsy tail on the middle section between the two (as you will see above).
  5. Repeat that on the side ponytails.
  6. Once the 3 are complete, hair tie the 3 of them together in the middle.
  7. Take the tail and split it into 2 sections (you’re now creating the bottom flakes).
  8. Repeat the same process on the bottom 2 sections.
  9. Once complete, hair tie them to the lower ponytails.
  10. Add your Glitter Gel!! This is the best part and really makes the snowflake SHINE BRIGHT and SPARKLE.

As you can see, it really is such a cute and beautiful hairstyle for this time of year. Try this one out! You will love it!

Hair Styling Cream

It’s the one question I get asked the most lately, and I love it. It’s important to make sure you prep the hair before you create a hairstyle. I love to use hair styling cream because I know it will help to keep the hair smooth and shiny.

I prefer using Dae Hair Styling Cream.
