I’m all about cute and pretty summer updos. It’s the best and easiest way to keep yourself cool during the hot summer months. I’m all about making sure Victoria’s hair is up as much as possible during the summer to keep her cool.
Cute and Pretty Summer Updo for Long Hair
When it comes to a pretty summer updo, this one is a fun one. It’s one that I love to do on Victoria’s hair whenever I can. It’s also a hairstyle that whenever I style it, people comment as to how cute it looks. This summer hairstyle is just the best and I’m (fairly) obsessed with it.
I also love this one because it’s super easy to do. As long as you have longer hair, you can make this one work. I’m also someone who really likes to make sure the hair is smooth before I create my pullovers and I will share below the exact product I use to make sure that happens.
Hair Tutorial for Cute Updo
Here’s my full hair tutorial for a summer hairdo. I promise, this is not hard to do at all! I urge you to try this one and create it for a summer occasion.

Step-by-step Tutorial:
- Start by creating parting the hair down the back and then creating 3 ponytails on each side. *Make sure the ponytails are the same distance apart from each other.
- I use hair style cream here to make sure the sections are nice and smooth. This is an important step here. I will share my favorite hair styling cream below.
- Take one of the top sections and cross it over to the middle opposite.
- Repeat with the other top hair section.
- Take the middle sections and do the same.
- You can take the bottom tails and either leave them as is or braid them the rest of the way down. *I added ribbon to make them a little cuter!

Here are the hair products that I used for this particular hairstyle.
HAIR ELASTICS
These are the Teenitor hair elastics I’ve been using lately. I was recommended to use them and couldn’t wait to give them a try. Victoria’s hair is on the thicker side, so I need to make sure I have hair elastics that will hold the hair and be extra durable. I also want to make sure the hair elastics won’t damage or crease the hair.

They have stayed in very fine, soft hair through days of gardening. Also, they slide off the braids when grabbed and pull off clean. No rolling and catching the hair to make knots.

You can keep a couple dozen in your purse, another couple dozen in your gym bag, some in your car…you get the idea. Any time you realize you need a hair tie, you’ll have a stash.

HAIR STYLING CREAM
It’s the one question I get asked the most lately, and I love it. It’s important to make sure you prep the hair before you create a hairstyle. I love to use hair styling cream because I know it will help to keep the hair smooth and shiny.
