Valentine’s Day is almost here and it’s time to get dressed and do your heart hairstyles! Here is a super cute and fun Valentine’s Day hairstyle for you to do on your hair (or someone else’s).

Fun Valentine’s Day Hairstyle

I’ve been trying to share more and more hairstyles that you can do on your hair, too. I love doing my daughter’s hair, but I also love doing my hair and when I find hairstyles to share, I make sure I do!

I saw a friend of mine do this to her daughter’s hair last Valentine’s Day and I LOVED it! I thought it looked super cute and so this year I wanted to try it on my own hair. Now I will say, you do need to have longer hair to make this one work.

I added in my clip-in hair extensions (that I’m obsessed with) for this fun Valentine’s Day hairstyle. If you’re someone with shorter hair, I highly recommend clip-in hair extensions. They work beautifully and are so easy to put in and take out.

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I just wanted to have fun with this one! I wore this hairstyle to dinner the other night and got lots of cute compliments. It’s definitely one people will talk about when you wear it… in a good way!

Step-by-step:

  1. Start by braiding the hair on each side. Just a loose three-strand braid and go a little more than half way down.
  2. Take the tail and split it into 2 sections.
  3. Bring the sections up and hair tie the base to the braid (you will see in the video exactly what I’m doing).
  4. Shape the bottom of the tail into a heart and hair tie the sections.
  5. Repeat on the other side.
  6. You can add ribbons or bows on the ends. These are super cute.

This fun Valentine’s Day hairstyle is just as sweet as can be and great for some love! Have fun with this one and enjoy this hairstyle.

Hair Products I Used for this Hairstyle

The good thing about this hairstyle is that it doesn’t require a ton of hair accessories and products. I’m sharing all the ones I used for this specific hairstyle below. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hair Elastics

These are the Teenitor hair elastics I’ve been using lately. I was recommended to use them and couldn’t wait to give them a try. Victoria’s hair is on the thicker side, so I need to make sure I have hair elastics that will hold the hair and be extra durable. I also want to make sure the hair elastics won’t damage or crease the hair.

best hair elastics

  • Strong and stretchy: The elastics are not so thin that they break when you try to stretch, but they are not so thick that you can’t stretch them properly. They have stayed in very fine, soft hair through days of gardening. Also, they slide off the braids when grabbed and pull off clean. No rolling and catching the hair to make knots.
  • Great deal: This is a great deal on 2000 pieces clear rubber elastic hair bands, enough for braiding different hairstyles. You can keep a couple dozen in your purse, another couple dozen in your gym bag, some in your car…you get the idea. Any time you realize you need a hair tie, you’ll have a stash.

The best part is that you get 2000 for under $7!

Hair Styling Cream

It’s the one question I get asked the most lately, and I love it. It’s important to make sure you prep the hair before you create a hairstyle. I love to use hair styling cream because I know it will help to keep the hair smooth and shiny.

I prefer using Dae Hair Styling Cream.
