I love love love rope braids. I think they’re so pretty and so cute. I’ve just recently gotten better at them because for a while I wasn’t sure how to do them. I’m excited to share this rope braid hair tutorial with you because I think this is just a great hairstyle for the summer!

I’m all about making sure I share easy and doable hairstyles for moms and dads. I’m someone who loves to have my hair and my daughter’s hair look pretty, but I’m also practical in the sense that I know people don’t have tons of time to do intricate hairstyles.

These rope braids are fun to do because you really can make these work for any occasion. You could do this hairstyle for a party, gathering, sports event, camp, school, or a special occasion.

So the trick of rope braids is simple.

Take the hair and divide it into 2 sections, you want to twist the sections in the same direction, but then when you twist them together – go in the opposite direction. That’s how you can get a perfect rope braid hairstyle.

Favorite Hair Products To Use

When it comes to hairstyles for kids, I feel like I could write a book! 🙂 We do hairstyles together almost every single day.

1. I know that it’s not always easy to have Victoria sit still, but a book, a device, or just talking time helps. Sometimes we play a game and that will help keep her still (although if you know my girl, she doesn’t like to sit still!).

2. I love using a leave-in conditioner spray on Victoria’s hair before I start. I just like to make sure there aren’t any tangles before we get going.

3. I love using hair oil, too on Victoria. It makes her hair nice and shiny and smooth to work with. I feel like this has been a huge game-changer for her when it comes to flyaways and keeping it healthy.

4. I love using hair elastics that don’t damage the hair.

I will continue to recommend the products we use and love because I think it’s important to share what people use that works.
