If you’re someone who has trouble getting out of bed in the morning, this post is for you. There are various things that would count as answering “What gets you out of bed in the morning?” And it’s different for everyone.
Mornings aren’t easy for everyone. The best thing about being an early riser is knowing that you have the rest of the day to make it the best it can be.
Waking up early is great because it gives you more hours in the day to have, but also gives you a moment to really have time for yourself before the world wakes up.
What makes you get up easily in the morning? Are you an early riser? Are you someone who jumps right out of bed? Are you someone who needs a little more prompting and coddling in the morning? The morning is what sets off the tone for the day so make it a great one to get you ready.
What Gets You Out of Bed in the Morning
Here are some strategies for getting yourself out of bed and ready to conquer the day ahead! It’s not always easy to do, but with these tips, you should be able to get up and out the door with a smile (or at least the thought of one!).
There’s something about accountability that just works. Find yourself a workout partner to meet up with you every morning. This is an easy way for you to get out of bed in the morning because you have someone depending on you.
I’ve set up a running/walking partnership 3 mornings a week. It’s not always easy getting myself up at 5:30am, but knowing that I have people waiting for me makes my butt get out of that bed easily. So if you’re looking for the #1 way one that gets you out of the bed in the morning, try this one!
Brew a Pot of Coffee
When you smell that yummy coffee brewing in the morning, it’s an easy way to get up! We’ve been setting the coffee pot before we head up to bed at night for 5:30am. The second that coffee smell hits my nose, I’ve craved a cup.
It’s an easy way to get you moving in the morning because you’re all set for the day with your caffeine fix. Just make sure you set it for the am and not the pm!
When Do You Get Up in the Morning?
Here’s the easiest tip I learned when I first went to college. Your body gets used to waking up at a particular time, so you need to keep yourself on that schedule. You can’t sleep till 9am one morning and then noon the next day. Keep yourself on a morning routine.
I usually wake up at 5:30am with my alarm. The funny thing is that if I let myself sleep “late,” I’d probably still wake up around 6am! Find a time that works for you and stick with it.
The best thing that usually wakes me up in the morning is to shower! There’s something about the water hitting my face that wakes me right on up! It’s a good thing to do to get yourself into a routine.
Whenever I’m thinking about what’s going to get me out of bed in the morning, I know a shower will always do the trick for me. It’s just a great way for me to be able to keep myself up and wake!
Have Someone Wake You Up
When you’re someone who needs to get up, you can always have someone call you to get you up. Sometimes an alarm clock doesn’t work for people, so it’s good to have someone give you a ring to make sure you’re up.
What gets you out of the bed in the morning will be different for everyone, but I love the idea of having your friend or parent call you to make sure you’re up. It’s something that I know my dad used to do with my grandma, too. It’s a perfect early morning call! Make sure it’s someone you love.
What makes you excited to get up in the morning is also different for everyone. If you have fun things on your calendar that you can’t wait for, it’s easier to get up in the morning, ready to take on the day!
There’s always something that motivates people to get up. Normally it’s school or work or kids, but it could be other things, too. Responsibilities in life are the best ways to get you out of the bed in the morning.
